AI-Assisted,
Human-made.

Our AI Pledge

This game was made in a small-batch print run for an indie game market. To support experimentation and keep games affordable, we sometimes use AI-assisted tools as part of our creative process. Here’s our commitment to you:

1. Human-Designed

Every image in this game was guided, curated, and approved by a human designer. AI is just another tool that we, as designers, used to help create our game.

2. Ethical & Sustainable Tools

We only use generative tools from companies that:

  • Train exclusively on licensed, public-domain, and opt-in artist datasets.

  • Compensate artists for their work.

  • Disclose energy practices and have sustainability goals.

Examples of tools that currently meet these criteria include Adobe Firefly (sustainability policy) and Bria.

3. Respect for Artists

We don’t replace jobs with AI. When we work with artists, they’re fully credited and fairly compensated.

Why This Matters

Thematic immersion is part of the experience of play. Traditionally, options for small-batch creators to achieve that immersion have been limited:

  • Professional illustration is ideal but can be prohibitively expensive.

  • It may not be possible to source public domain or licensed images with a cohesive style fitting the game’s theme.

We support a creative community ethically experimenting with new technology to bring new designs to life.

The Ethical AI Seal

If you’ve used ethical AI tools as part of creating your game and abide by the pledge, you can include this seal on your game.
